About Marches

Free maps for research and teaching. No account needed.

Find places, draw borders and shaded territories, connect routes, and keep dates and sources with your work. Adjust colors, symbols, and labels, then make a figure for a paper, a slide, or a social post.

Add dates to explore change through time. Share a playable web map, a vertical video, an image series, or several years together in a comparison grid.

Certainty records your assessment of the evidence. Suggested solid, dashed, and dotted borders are customizable design choices, not a universal historical convention.

Save project downloads an editable copy for Marches. Export makes a map to share. Your browser also keeps your current work, but that copy can be cleared.

Map data & optional credit

Copy credit in Export offers an optional Natural Earth acknowledgement. You do not need to credit Marches.
